Which tights to choose today?

Do you find it difficult to choose the right tights in the morning? Look no further, the answer is here.

It is the British mathematician Dr James Hind who has come up with a formula to get the prefect denier in relation to temperature and wind.

– It started when BBC Radio Nottinghamshire asked me if I could come up with a tights forecasting equation to help listeners get dressed in the mornings, says Dr Hind a lecturer at Nottingham Trent University.

The equation, that looks rather complex, take temperature, wind speed and wind direction into account when finding the right denier for your tights. It covers tights from 0 denier to 110 denier.

– No matter how cold or how warm it gets, the equation will work, confirms Dr Hind.

We have made some adjustments to the published formula so you just have to select where you live (or closest city) and the ideal denier will be presented.

Cervin behind the scenes

French tv-channel TF1 has made a visit to the mill where Cervin's stockings are knitted and stitched.

The news segment is all in French without subtitles, but even if you don't speak the language you will enjoy seeing how the traditional craftsmanship is carried out to perfection.
